If your whole family loves to fish (or you’d love to fish with your whole family, and think pulling together as a team would be great inspiration), a FAMILY MEMBERSHIP with the WRFL is a great idea!
The household matriarch buys the Family Membership in her name (gaining full executive membership rights and benefits) and nominates her non-voting partner, who then gets $25 reimbursed on their Gauntlet kit when they nominate the family’s Executive Member! As a BONUS, the children fish the Minnows free when their names are submitted in the Family Membership form (this is the only way kids can fish the Minnows).

COMMON QUESTIONS
Do I need a boat?
No. Land-based anglers fish on exactly the same terms. The beach, the rocks, the jetty and the riverbank all count.
Who can enter?
Anyone fishing in Australia. Men and women compete as equals and teammates, and juniors fish free as Minnows under a family membership.
How is it scored?
You upload each catch through the free WRFL Tournament App (search ”womens rec fishing league“ on your provider) on the official brag mat. Scores are made live once they’ve been checked by our scrutineer. Only paid competitors’ scores are verified. Eligible fish species for each state and their scoring values can be found on the app. Your first points are achieved when your fish length crosses the minimum scoring length for that species on the official brag mat.
When does it run?
Lines are in from midnight 1 December 2026 to the last minute of 30 November 2027, with the Grand Final in November.
